VINTAGE 2010

With the lowest temperatures since 1996, the first part of 2010 contrasted with the decade. The winter frosts and the cool spring recalled the northern location of the vineyard. The summer was hot, without excess, and the scarcity of rain confirmed a particularly dry year. Everything changed in mid-August: in two days, it rained the equivalent of two months of rain. With the heat and water, ripening was rapid and generous but the harvest began in the presence of botrytis in the Pinot Noirs. As in 1995, the balance of the grapes was high, both sweet and acidic, but it was necessary to give up certain plots and sort others to extract the best from a vintage rich in its contrasts.
